It’s a surreal feeling coming to the end of this blog series.
When I first thought of this idea, I intended to try and do it on my own, but a personal situation forced me to ask for help from others. Asking for help is not something that is easy for me, but I am so happy that I did. I was surprised by the positive, encouraging responses that I received from everyone. More importantly, because of everyone’s help, the posts in this series are far better than I could ever have developed on my own.
This project has given me something to focus on that was unrelated to awareness, and that has helped me to get through this month feeling relatively unscathed. I’m simultaneously proud and humbled that we’ve reached the end: Proud that we could come together and create this, and humbled by the amazing posts that I’ve read.
Thank you to all the contributors to this series.

I cannot adequately express my gratitude in words, but I am truly grateful for the amazing words you contributed to this series.
A big thank you also goes to everyone who liked and shared these posts on Facebook, and helped amplify the voices of Autistic people during a time in which we are routinely silenced.
April is coming to an end, so this blog will return to my usual ramblings.
The part of this project that I have enjoyed the most was reading the writing of people who aren’t yet established bloggers. It was fantastic to be able to offer a platform to people who are just finding their voices. I hope that this project can become an annual one, and I intend to repeat it next year (with different topics), so I’ll put a call out for contributions in the new year to both new and established bloggers and see if this can become this website’s April thing.
Once again, thank you to everyone for — just being you.
